LOW COST POINT TO POINT SELECTIVE SOLDERING

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The Ebso SPA 300 is a highly flexible miniwave soldering machine. PCB’s are mounted on an XYZ moving carrier which moves over the fluxer, preheater and mini wave in programmed sequence. The wave moves from point to point, automatically soldering the connections. When soldering connectors, the wave drag solders a line of leads in one go.

The solder bath and pump are made from titanium, so lead free solder alloys can be safely used. The Ebso machine is ideal for soldering connectors, transformers, relays, coils etc, and there are big labour savings to be made as hand soldering these parts is very labour intensive. You also have the assurance of perfect repeatability of solder joint quality.

Due to the simple design, the cost of the SPA 300 is much lower than for many other selective soldering machines.

USED WAVE SOLDERING MACHINE

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

We are currently reconditioning a used Blundell System 300 wave soldering machine. This compact flow soldering machine was originally supplied and serviced from new by us, and has been taken in part exchange from one of our customers who was trading up to a larger machine. We are fitting a new lead free solder pot to it, so it will be fully compatible with all Pb-free alloys.

It is floor standing,  has a foam fluxer (a spray fluxer can optionally be fitted), and can be filled with leaded or unleaded solder.  Delivery and installation is by our engineers and we offer a 6 month warranty.

For pricing information and availablility please contact Paul or Neil Blundell on 02476 210270 or email us at sales@blundell.co.uk.

SELECTIVE SOLDERING MACHINE WINS AWARD

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

The new Ersa Versaflow Series 3 selective soldering machine has won the prestigous “Global Technology Award” during the SMTA Trade Fair in Orlando, Florida.

An independent technical panel voted the “Versaflow 3/45″ as the most innovative product. It is the first in-line selective soldering machine to have multiple track conveyors, allowing PCB’s to be soldered side by side, and it features the proven Ersa moving solder pot system with mini wave nozzle. It will solder two printed circuit boards side by side with dimensions of up to 508 x 204mm each. Further parellel conveyor tracks can be added if the PCB’s are smaller.

One machine can have up to four solder pots and up to 8 spray fluxer heads, so that multiple boards can be selectively soldered in line at fast speeds. Up to 22 boards can be processed through the machine simultaneously. This is a first for selective soldering which, until now has been considered to be quite a slow process.

The Versaflow 3 series is available in the UK from Blundell Production Equipment. For more information call Paul or Neil Blundell on 02476 210270.

NEW SMALL PICK AND PLACE MACHINE FOR SMT

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

There is a lot of interest in the new small surface mount pick and place machine that we are offering. It’s made by Fritsch, who have been a leading name in SMD placement equipment for over 20 years. The Fritsch PA510 has a small footprint yet it has big machine accuracy and, unusually for a small machine, has intelligent feeders.

It is very easy to use and to program, it has a built in component library, a CAD data converter, automatic fiducial recognition and automatic kitting control. It will assemble most components including BGA, CSP, and fine pitch QFP up to 70 x 70mm in size and will also assemble custom components such as LED’s, connectors etc.

It can use tape feeders, block feeders, stick feeders, tape strip feeders, custom LED feeders, tray feeders. Two machines can be linked together to form an in-line system for higher volume assembly work.

It comes with full installation, training and service support from Blundell, so you can be sure that technical assistance is only a phone call away at all times.

For more information please call Paul or Neil Blundell on 02476 210270 or Nick Clarke on 07786 150864. Visit our Website www.blundell.co.uk or email sales@blundell.co.uk.
