Essemtech pick and place machines have had a fair run of popularity in the UK over the past couple of years but they now have stiff competition from Fritsch of Germany.
The Fritsch PA510 and PA600 automatic surface mount placement machines are gaining ground rapidly, and have the added advantage of a stable and long established UK distributor, Blundell Production Equipment.
The Fritsch PA510, which is the most sought after model in the range is available with either laser or optical vision centering, intelligent feeders as standard (it will hold up to 200 different component types at one time), very easy programming via teach-in or CAD converter, automatic kitting control and flexible variant assembly. Full support and training is provided by Blundell.
Anyone considering an Essemtech system should also look closely at the Fritsch alternative. Blundell are currently offering a 2 year warranty as standard on Fritsch machines.

The new iPulse M6 SMT mounting machine combines the speed of a chipshooter and the flexibility of a mid range precision placer.
It features 6 axis full servo, high speed vision processing, two-way on the fly scanning, has 120 feeder inputs and an intelligent feeder system and high speed vision processing from a newly developed vision processing unit.
Typical tact time for an 0603 component would be 18,600 per hour (IPC9850 standard) an SOIC16 would be 17,400 cph and for a QFP100, 5,100cph. These impressive speeds are combined with stunning accuracy due to the machine’s rigid monocoque frame and 6 axis full servo head.

We are off to Munich this weekend for the bi-annual beer and production equipment fest that is the undisputed biggest and best show in the world for printed circuit board assembly, soldering and inspection equipment.
As we don’t sell outside of the UK, but we buy lots of equipment in from abroad, we won’t have our own stand but our main Principals such as Ersa, Ebso, iPulse, TWS, Fritsch, PVA and Dage will all have stands there and we will be helping them out and also looking for new product opportunities.
Any UK customers who are going to Munich who would like to meet up with us are welcome to call me on 07770 603785 between Monday and Thursday of next week so that we can arrange to get together on one of our principals’ stands or in the bar if you prefer. See you in Munich.
