X-RAY INSPECTION OF ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLIES

Friday, January 29th, 2010

The unique Dage NT sealed-transmissive type of X-ray tube, the heart of the Dage XD7500NT 950HP X-ray inspection system, supersedes and out-performs the closed and open tube types that are available in earlier systems.

The sealed-transmissive tube is the only way to genuinely improve X-ray image resolution whilst still providing true high power and without compromising the resolution and magnification.

Dage X-Ray inspection machines are sold and supported in the UK by Blundell Production Equipment. For more information contact Paul or Neil Blundell on 02476 210270 or email sales@blundell.co.uk

FIRST VAPOUR PHASE ORDER RECEIVED

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I am very pleased to report than less than a month after we took over the UK distribution and support for IBL, that we have sold our first IBL Vapour Phase reflow system to Alchemy Technical Consulting Ltd.

Flintshire based Alchemy are a specialised electronics assembly company offering assembly services from prototypes and pre-production runs, up to high volume SMT assembly and box build.

The IBL machine they are purchasing is the SV260 tabletop machine which takes only 3kg of Galden fluid to fill and has fluid running costs of less than 1p per minute and assures that there is no risk of over-heating the PCB’s that are being soldered.

For more information on IBL Vapour Phase reflow systems please contact Paul or Neil Blundell on 02476 210270, or email us at sales@blundell.co.uk

WIRELESS TEMPERATURE PROFILER FOR REFLOW OVENS

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The Blundell PRO-filer is a 6 channel wireless RF operated temperature profiling system, or “mole” used for checking and recording the heating profile in a reflow soldering oven.

It is fitted with 6 Type-K thermocouples and uses high performance data acquisition to see the reflow profile as it happens and record real time data on every aspect of the heating profile including the Delta T. Unlike many other profilers there are no trailing wires or plug-in thermocouple connections.

Profiling is the most efficient way to assess the effect of the heating profile on a given PCB without risking damage to a circuit board in the process. After each pass, a graph of the profile is shown on screen and can be printed out, emailed or stored for future reference.
